Charles Campbell Obituary

Charles David “Chuck” Campbell, age 92 of The Woodlands, Texas, a former longtime resident of the Toronto, OH area,  passed away Saturday, April 14, 2018 surrounded by his loving family at the Memorial Hermann Hospital of The Woodlands, Texas.

 

Charles was born August 30, 1925 the son of the late Samuel Arnold Campbell and Edna Mae (Kelley) Campbell.

 

As a young boy he was a member of St. Paul’s Singing Boys of America Choir and traveled the U.S. performing with them.

 

He was a member of the Hill Top Presbyterian Church where he had served as Sunday School Superintendent,  choir director and Elder; member of the carpenters union; was a long time member of the Jefferson Ruritan Club where he served on the board of directors and participated in building many ramps sponsored by the Ruritan Club for disabled persons.

 

Charles served his country in the U.S. Navy during WW II, worked many years as a carpenter by trade and retired from the U.S. Postal Service out of the Toronto Post Office as a rural mail carrier.

 

Charles is survived by his wife, Eva Ruth Campbell whom he married June 28, 1946; daughter, Sheryl  (Scott) Japczynski of The Woodlands, Texas.; grandchildren, Thomas (Kim) Japczynski , Jamie Japczynski, Christopher (Ashley) Japczynski and Bethanne (Troy) Parish all of Texas; great grandchildren, Elijah, Noah and Ezekiel all of Texas and sister, Beverly Jean (George) Evans of Bay Village, Ohio.

 

Friends and family will gather for visitation 2-6  Friday, April 20th at the Clarke Funeral Home, 302 Main St., Toronto, OH.

 

A celebration service of Charles’ life will be held 11 A.M. Saturday, April 21st at the Hill Top Presbyterian Church, County Highway 46, Toronto with the Reverend C. Robert Meyer and the Reverend John Hyde officiating. Interment will follow at the Island Creek Cemetery.

 

Memorial donations in memory of Charles may be made to the Hill Top Presbyterian Church, 110 County Highway 46, Toronto, OH 43964
