Elaine (Wasco) Donofrio

Helen Elaine Donofrio, age 95 of Toronto, OH passed away Friday, August 26, 2016 at the Memories of Marie Assisted Living of Toronto, OH

She was born November 20, 1920 in Toronto, OH the daughter of the late William and Ann (Danchak) Wasco.

Elaine was a member of the St. Francis Roman Catholic Church  of Toronto, OH.  She had served as Rosary Society Leader at the St. Joseph Byzantine Catholic Church of Toronto, OH; was a member of the Steel Valley Antique Automobile Club, Toronto Senior Citizens, Navy Club and was a life member of the Toronto High School Alumni Association. She was a 1938 graduate of Toronto High School.

She was retired after 32 years of employment as a sales clerk at the former A & P Tea Company grocery store in Steubenville, OH.

Elaine was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, John, Mike, Bill, Nick and Dan Wasco and sisters, Anna T. Batcho, Mary Baker and Irene Brayton.

She is survived by her husband, Ralph Eugene Donofrio whom she married in 1968; step-daughter, Mary Joy (Jim) VanDyne of Steubenville, OH; grandson, Jay Flanigan of Cape Canaveral, FL; great-granddaughters, Sara Flanigan and Emily Flanigan of Cape Canaveral, FL and numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends and family will gather for visitation from 4 to 7 P.M. Tuesday, August 30th at the Clarke Funeral Home, 302 Main St., Toronto, OH. Additional visitation will be held from 10 to 11 A.M. Wednesday, August 31st at the St. Francis Roman Catholic Church, Toronto, OH.

A Vigil Service will be held at the funeral home 6:45 P.M. Tuesday.

Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated at the St. Francis Roman Catholic Church 11 A.M. Wednesday with celebrant the Reverend Thomas Vennitti. Interment will follow at the Toronto Union Cemetery.
