Margaret A. “Maggie” Biddle Swick, age 58 of Toronto passed away Tuesday, January
26, 2016 at Wheeling Hospital, Wheeling, WV surrounded by her loving family.
She was born May 22, 1957 in Steubenville, OH the daughter of the late John Quincy and Della Dorthea (Stock) Biddle.
Maggie was a member of the Wellsville V.F.W. Post 5647 Auxiliary, Toronto American Legion Post #86 Auxiliary and the Toronto Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #1276 Auxiliary.
She was employed since 1979 as manager of Margaret’s Café in Toronto.
Maggie was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, James A. Elverd and second husband, Ronald L. Gray; brothers, John Q. Biddle, Robert and Jay Stock; sister, Lida Daugherty; father and mother-in-law, Steve and Pearl Swick and Aunt Marge Vanihel
She is survived by her husband, William Steve Swick whom she married October 15, 2012; daughter, Lida Marie (Todd) Mayhew of Toronto, OH; grandchildren, Josh, Tyler and Ashlee Miller; sisters, Jonna “Babe” Miller of Toronto, OH, Helen “Putty” Hall and companion Red Leasure of Toronto, OH and Lynn (Bob) Poley of Haverhill, MA; half-sisters, Gretchen (Ron) Jennelle and Janet (Jim) Smearman all of New Cumberland, WV. She is also survived by 12 step-children and several step-grandchildren.
Visitation hours for Maggie will be held 2-4 and 6-8 Friday, January 29th at the Clarke funeral Home, 302 Main Street, Toronto.
A blessing service by Father Thomas Vennetti will be held at 6:15 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.
A celebration service of Maggie’s life will be held 1:00 P.M. Saturday, January 30th at the funeral home with Pastor Susan Clegg officiating. Interment will follow at the Toronto Union Cemetery.
