Matthew David Barcus

Matthew David Barcus, age 47, of Toronto, OH passed away suddenly Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at the Trinity Medical Center West, Steubenville, OH.

He was born March 31, 1970 in Steubenville, OH.

Matthew was Catholic by faith, a 1988 graduate of Toronto High School, had attended Bethany College and Kent State University and was a member of the Toronto American Legion SAL (Sons of the American Legion) .

He was formerly employed Langeloth Metallurgical Company of Burgettstown, PA.

Matthew was preceded in death by his father, H. David Barcus; maternal grandfather, Chester Stasiulewicz; paternal grandparents Harry Barcus and Rosa Lang.

He is survived by his wife, Lucitria Deneen (Ellis) Barcus whom he married February 14, 1997; sons, Matthew D. Barcus II, Michael P. Barcus and step-son, Robert H. Jackson, Jr. all of Toronto, OH; mother, Mary (Ron) Stasiulewicz Dacko of Toronto, OH; maternal grandmother, Norvegia “Nora” Stasiulewicz of Toronto, OH; brothers, David D. Barcus of Richmond, OH and John M. Dacko of Toronto, OH; grandchildren, Kadence A. Jackson and Robbie H. Jackson; nephews, Albert and Joshua Barcus of New Alexandria, OH; aunts and uncles, Patty Redmond, David Stasiulewicz and companion Mary, John (Kim) Stasiulewicz and George (Tracy) Stasiulewicz.

Visitation hours for Matthew will be held 5-8 Sunday, October 1st at the Clarke Funeral Home, 302 Main St., Toronto, OH

Interment will take place at the Toronto Union Cemetery at a later date.
