Phyllis Rose Hagy, 84, Loving Mother, Wife, and Friend

Phyllis Rose Hagy (née Carpino) died peacefully on the morning of Sept. 3, 2017 in Worthington, Ohio. She was 84.

Mrs. Hagy was born on Oct. 8, 1932, in Steubenville, Ohio, to Simon and Josephine Carpino. She married William “Bill” Lee Hagy on Sept. 8, 1950. She will be buried alongside Bill this Friday, Sept. 8th, their 67th wedding anniversary.

The Hagys moved to Toronto, OH, in 1967 where William worked at TIMET. Phyllis was a tireless mother and wife, a devoted friend, and an energetic member of the First United Presbyterian Church of Toronto.

In addition to her devotion to family, Mrs. Hagy had a passion for the arts and her community. Along with Bill, she was a longtime member of the church choir. She was a gifted and classically trained pianist who also painted landscapes and cooked delicious Italian meals.

She is also survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Jean Carpino Kotchka and Captain Jerry A. Kotchka, USN (ret.), and many loving cousins, nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Bill, and her brother, Joseph S. Carpino.
