I recently located papers while cleaning out my attic that are related to my brother’s (William George Street) death in a MVA in 1972 near Lakehurst Naval Air Station in NJ. I found “Starkey’s” full name on a statement to the police, because he was behind my brother’s car and witnessed my brother’s car being struck head-on by a dump truck operated by an alcohol impaired driver. Sam was a friend of my brother’s at Lakehurst. I met ”Starkey” at Lakehurst and we shared a few beers and many laughs at the club on base. He was a kind and delightful young man. I remember especially that he could recite Shakespeare. He made me laugh. I was saddened to find his obituary. I am so sorry for your loss, and may you always find solace in your memories of a wonderfully kind human being.
