Thomas C. “Toot” Wilson, age 76 passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family Tuesday, May 19, 2015.

 

He was born November 7, 1938 in Toronto, OH the son of the late Herman L. and Gladys L. Wilson.

 

Toot was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Toronto where he served as an Elder and Deacon; served as a councilman for the City of Toronto, was a member of the Toronto Volunteer Fire department; was a member of the Toronto Kiwanis Club; was involved with the organization of the Toronto Titans Football Team; was a 1956 graduate of Toronto High School and was a current board member of the Toronto Union Cemetery Association.

 

He retired after 28 years as owner and proprietor of Wilson’s Amoco Service Station in Toronto. He also had been an employee of the Clarke Funeral Home of Toronto.

 

Toot was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Carolyn King and grandson Wilson Wolter.

 

He is survived by his wife, Bonnie J. (Dorff) Wilson whom he married August 15, 1958; sons, Thomas L. Wilson and wife Paige of Toronto, Randall S. Wilson and wife Linda of Decatur, AL, Timothy A. Wilson and wife Monica of Toronto; daughter, Penny L. Wolter and husband Terry of Toronto, OH; grandchildren, Abbey Wilson, Lindsey Goldbold and husband Adam, Tommy Wilson, Hannah Vantilburg and husband Anthony, Graham Wilson and wife Heather, Nolan Wilson, Victoria Wolter, Charles Wilson and Evan Wolter; six great-grandchildren; brother, Timothy Wilson and wife Nancy of Niceville, FL and sister, Suzanne Wilson of Adena, OH.

 

Visitation hours for Toot will be held Friday, May 22nd 1-4 and 6-9 P.M. at the First Presbyterian Church, North Third St., Toronto. Additional visitation will be held from 10 – 11 A.M. Saturday, May 23rd at the church.

 

A celebration service of Toot’s life will be held 11 A.M. Saturday at the First Presbyterian Church with the Reverend Michael Bongart officiating. A luncheon will be served at the church following the service.
