Ruth Irene (Clark) Goddard

Ruth Irene Goddard, age 75, a homemaker, passed away Friday, March 17, 2017 at the Life Line Hospital, Wintersville, OH.

She was born February 20, 1942 in Smithfield Township, OH.

Ruth was a former member of the Mount Moriah Baptist Church of Bloomingdale, OH; a former member of the Knoxville Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary; a 1960 graduate of Smithfield High School and had attended the College of Steubenville (Franciscan University). She was an avid Bingo player and loved to read.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Bessie Adelaide (Tucker) Clark; husband, Roger Allan Goddard in 1999 whom she married September 27, 1969; granddaughter, Cassidy Jean Goddard; sisters, Lois Thress and Rena Smith.

Ruth is survived by her sons, Timothy Vance (Jenn) Goddard, Rodger Lee (Monica) Goddard and daughter, Shari Clark all of Toronto, OH; seven grandchildren and one great-grand daughter; brothers, Rick (Anna) Clark of Hopedale, OH and Kenny (Carol) Clark of Wintersville, OH; sisters, Bonnie (Tony) DiSabatino of Florida, Marie (Richard Tyson) Creamer of Steubenville, OH and Donna Kugler of Wintersville, OH.

Visitation hours for Ruth will be held 4-7 Tuesday, March 21st at the Clarke Funeral Home, 302 Main St., Toronto.

A celebration service of Ruth’s life will be held 11 A.M. Wednesday, March 22nd at the funeral home with the Reverend C. Robert Meyer officiating. Interment will follow at the Island Creek Cemetery.
