Alexis Jene-Keenan “Sugar” Freeman age 45 of Steubenville passed away Sunday August 2, 2026.

She was born March 26, 1981 in Steubenville.

Alexis loved to do sketching, work on anything mechanical. She loved singing and dancing and was always trying to help others and was a self-employed hair stylist.

She was preceded in death by her son, D’Lonra; sister, Diamond, Pap & Gram Martin, uncle Bobby; Pap Keenan & Gram Blanchard & Pap Virtue & Wilmon Williams, Pap George and Grandma Wanda.

Alexis leaves behind several loved ones, Dad and Mom: Keel & Sheryl (Keenan) Welch; brother Keel Welch II, nephew Brayden,sister Danielle Keeshuna Welch & nephew Edward, brister Freedom (jus), two uncles Frank and Chuck Martin. aunt/ sister, Lisa Gilbert, father, Stephen Virtue Jr., Aunt Cherry, son Garrett, two daughters, Naytavia (Luna), Michaeleena (Leena), Scarlett & Hilton, husband Garrett Freeman.

Family and friends will gather for visitation from 4 to 7 PM Monday August 10th at the Clarke Funeral Home, Toronto.
