Barbara J. Simpson, age 90 of Toronto; passed away on Tuesday, August 23, 2022, at the Valley Hospice Care Center – Steubenville.

Born July 9, 1932, in Steubenville, Ohio, she is a daughter of the late Thomas and Frieda (Bauer) Wood. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Toronto and was a founding member of the Toronto Red Knight Women's Club. Barbara worked as a Realtor for the Bethel Agency and also worked at the former Bank Corp in Toronto.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Paul F. Simpson, whom she married January 20, 1956; a son Michael Simpson, two sisters Sarah Kincaid and Mary Miller; and her two brothers Jim and Tom Wood. Barbara's survivors include her two sons, Tom W. Simpson and his wife Sue of Westerville, Ohio, and Paul D. "PD" Simpson and his wife Casey of Toronto; two grandchildren, Ali Chiplinski and her husband Tyler of Streetsboro, Ohio and Reed Simpson of New Albany, Ohio; two great-grandchildren Mila and Lily Chiplinski of Streetsboro, Ohio, and her nephew Chuck Simpson and his wife Sheri of Hilliard, Ohio.

Family and friends will gather for visitation on Friday, August 26, 2022 from 5:00-8:00 PM at the Clarke Funeral Home – 302 Main St. Toronto, Ohio 43964 (740)537-1234 A celebration of Barbara's life service will be held on Saturday August 27, 2022 at 11:00 AM at the Funeral Home with Reverend Kevin Rinkes officiating. Burial will follow in Toronto Cemetery. Those wishing to make memorial donations in Barbara's name may be made to either the Muscular Dystrophy Foundation or The First Presbyterian Church of Toronto. The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at the Primetime office of aging and the staff of Valley Hospice for all of the wonderful help and care they have provided.
