Bernard L. "Bernie" Horvath, age 77 of Toronto (Knoxville), OH passed away Saturday, December 3, 2016 at his home.

He was born April 29, 1939 in Colliers, WV the son of the late Andrew Horvath in 1985 and Anna (Muranye) Horvath in 2007.

Bernie loved to watch NASCAR races; restore classic cars and do body work on cars at his home and was a 1958 graduate of Jefferson Union High School.

He was formerly employed at the Wheeling – Pittsburgh Steel Company and later was the owner and operator of Horvath's Auto Body Shop in Toronto, OH for many years.

Bernie was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary Virginia (Skeeles) Horvath in 2001 whom he married December 19, 1964 and sister, Annabelle Reese in 2002.

He is survived by his daughter, Kimberly "Kim" (Joseph-Buck) Nemitt of Toronto, OH.; his one and only grandson, Joseph Andrew Nemitt of Toronto, OH; brothers, Robert M. Horvath, Sr. of Toronto, OH, Thomas E. Horvath, Sr. of Peoria, AZ and Matt L. Horvath of Amsterdam, OH; sister-in-law, Cynthia (William) Henry of Toronto, OH and brother-in-law, Thomas (Linda) Skeeles of Toronto, OH. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation hours for Bernie will be held 1 to 3 and 5 to 7 Tuesday, December 6th at the Clarke Funeral Home, 302 Main St., Toronto, OH.

A celebration service of Bernie's life will be held 11 A.M. Wednesday, December 7th at the funeral home with Pastor Eric Frey officiating. Interment will follow at the Island Creek Cemetery, corner of County Road 46 and State Route 213, Toronto (Taylortown), OH.
