Bernice Jean Riddle, 83 residing at Wesley Glen Retirement Community in Columbus, Ohio died on September 10, 2016. She formerly resided in the Toronto, Ohio area.
She was born April 6, 1933 in Richmond, Ohio the daughter of the late William and Mary (Waggoner) Kugler.
In November 1951 she married Ray L. Riddle who preceded her in death in 2007. She was also preceded in death by daughter, Karen Lynn and sister, Ruth Martin, of Bowling Green, Ohio. Surviving is son Bruce (Beverly) Riddle of Mt. Pleasant, Ohio and daughter Diane (Kevin) Myers of Centerburg, Ohio. Also surviving are grandsons, Robert and Bart Morrison, great-granddaughters, Emma and Kaitlyn of Bloomingdale, Ohio, sister Doris Sutton, of Fostoria, Ohio and brother, Warner (Bonnie) Kugler of Lima, Ohio, along with many nieces and nephews.
Bernice was a graduate of Jefferson Union High School and a graduate with a B.S. degree from the University of Steubenville. She received her Master's degree from Dayton University. She was a member of The First Presbyterian Church of Toronto having served on the Board of Deacons. She had memberships in Alpha Delta Kappa, Alpha Chi, and the Ohio Teacher's Association. She taught school for 23 years, teaching at the Knoxville and Irondale Elementary schools.
Visitation hours for Bernice will be held from 12 noon to 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, September 14th at the Clarke Funeral Home, 302 Main St., Toronto, OH.
A celebration service of Bernice's life will follow at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday at the Clarke Funeral Home in Toronto with the Reverend Tyler Bayless officiating. Interment will follow at the Island Creek Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be given to the First Presbyterian Church of Toronto or the donor's choice.
