Betty Jeanne Hood, age 94 a homemaker of Mingo Junction passed away Wednesday, September 23,2020.

She was born January 28, 1926 in Columbus, OH the daughter of the late Samuel Ellis West and Naomi (Turner) Garvin.

Betty was a member of the Harmony United Methodist Church of Mingo Junction; was a 1944 graduate of Steubenville High School; loved to read and crochet; raised eight children and helped raise several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Beside her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dean Hood in 1994 whom she married August 18, 1946; son, David Hood in 2010 and a daughter, Sharon Six in 2012.

Betty is survived by her children, Sandy  Olexia (Dale Jones) of Wintersville, Joyce Hood of Mingo Junction, Larry Hood of Toronto, Valerie (Bruce) Rutherford of Steubenville, Kim Groves of Mingo Junction and Robin Johnston of Mingo Junction; fifteen grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren survive.

Visitation hours for Betty will be held 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday, September 27th at the Clarke Funeral Home, 302 Main Street, Toronto.

A celebration service of Betty's life will be held 11 a.m. Monday, September 28th at the funeral home with Pastor Sam Davis officiating. Interment will follow at the Ft. Steuben Burial Estates, Wintersville.
