Carolyn C. Grimes Kennedy - age 70 - of Steubenville, Ohio passed away Saturday - November 19, 2011 at the Trinity Medical Center - West - Steubenville, Ohio.She was born June 9, 1941 in New Somerset, Ohio the daughter of the late Kenneth J. and Helen Louise Schilling Grimes granddaughter of the late Dr. Robert W. Schilling. She was the wife of Harold E. Kennedy who was from North Wheeling, W.Va. whom she married in 1962 and who preceded her in death in 1975.Surviving is a son, Harold E. Kennedy, Jr. and wife Sandy of Toronto and a daughter Mary Kay Kennedy Fleishour and her husband Mike of Steubenville. Also surviving is grandchildren James Applegarth, Jr. of Steubenville, Summer Kennedy, Kayla Tharp and husband Lenny, Brittany and Emily Kennedy all of Toronto. Great granddaughter Kaylee Applegarth of Toronto. Surviving brothers are, Robert Eakin and wife Margaret of Sarasota, Florida, Lester Grimes and wife Cathy of Toronto and Richard Grimes of Steubenville.A registered nurse by profession she was employed by the former St. Johns Hospital form 1971 to 1975, the former Forester Nursing Home from 1978 to late 2003 and the Bolger Health Care from 2004 to the present. She loved and was dedicated to caring for the elderly and disabled. Carolyn was a member of the former Center Chapel United Methodist Church and the LaBelle View Church of Christ.Visitation hours for Carolyn will be Tuesday- November 22nd 3-5 and 6-8 at the Clarke Funeral Home - 302 Main St. - Toronto. Additional visitation will be from 1 to 2 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.A celebration service of Carolyn''s life will be held 2:00 P.M. Wednesday - November 23rd at the funeral home with Minister Thomas Arehart and Pastor Mike Smith officiating. Burial will follow at the Center Chapel Union Cemetery.Memorial contributions in memory of Carolyn may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Lung Association or St. Jude''s Children''s Hospital.
