Charles H. Porter - Age 83 - of Warren, Ohio died Wednesday August 29, 2001 at the Autumn Hill Nursing Home in Niles, Ohio.
Mr. Porter is a former resident of Toronto and had moved to Warren, Ohio to the home of his sister-in-law Helen Maxine Peterson and her husband Darl.
Charles''s memberships include: North River Avenue Church of Christ in Toronto, American Legion in Belleview, Florida and the Toronto Masonic Lodge #583 F. and A.M..
He is a veteran of W.W.II serving in the U.S. Army.
Charles retired in 1980 from the Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel Company where he worked for 44 years as a welder.
He was preceded in death by: Parents / Wife- Virginia Mae Gump Porter who passed away December 8, 1998 and whom he married June 27, 1940 / a son and daughter-in-law Raymond and Margaret Porter who both died December 19, 1971 / brother - Frank Porter. Charles''s survivors are: 1 Brother: Edward Porter and wife Shirley of Toronto 2 Sisters: Thelma Dillon and husband Everett of Wintersville, Ohio Evelyn Cline of Toronto Sister-In-Law: Helen Maxine Peterson and husband Darl of Warren, Ohio with whom he lived until going to the Autumn Hill Nursing Home Several nieces and nephews also survive.
