Charles V. Runyon, age 88, beloved father and Grandfather, died peacefully May 16, 2011. He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Erma Jean (Kuhn) Runyon and by his brother Phillip Runyon.Charles was born November 28, 1922 in Sugar Grove, Ohio the son of the late Clifford P. and Caroline "Carrie" (Vantilburg) Runyon. He was a World War II veteran, a lifelong active member of the United Methodist Church as well as a Chemical Engineer, Environmental Manager and consultant. He has been a farmer, a teacher, a hunter, and always a good neighbor and friend. He is survived by his daughter Rhonda (Bill) Watkins, son Mark (Joy) Runyon; and six grandchildren, Adam (Becca), Emily, Daniel, Michael, Grace and Matthew. He leaves two sisters-in-law, Burness Candoo Runyon and Dolores Redman Kuhn as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.Visitation will be at 1:00 P.M. followed by a memorial service at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday May 21, 2011 at the Sugar Grove United Methodist Church, 159 County Rd. 68 Toronto, 43964.
