C. Irene Davis - Age 81 - of Toronto, Ohio died Wednesday September 12, 2001 at Trinity Medical Center West, Steubenville, Ohio.
Irene was born March 3, 1920 in Holidays Cove, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Samuel and Bessie Evans Shirley.
She is a member of the Riverview United Methodist Church in Toronto and a member of the Toronto American Legion Post #86 Auxillary.
Irene is retired from the former Isalys Store and the former Anco Glass Company both of Toronto.
She was preceded in death by: Parents / Husband - James O. Davis who passed away September 14, 1997 and whom she married October 20, 1947 / two sisters - Chelsea Eppart and Audrey Harris.
Irene''s survivors are: 2 Daughters: Mrs. Michael ( Nancy ) Gotwalt of Lewisberry, Pa. Lois K. Davis of the home Grandson: Nicholas Gotwalt of Lewisberry, Pa. 1 Brother: George Shirley of Waynesboro, Va. 2 Sisters: Lois Morgan of New Smyrna Beach, Florida June Starkey of Toronto, Ohio Friends and family will be received for visitation 12-3 & 7-9 Sunday September 16, 2001 at the Clarke Funeral Home, 302 Main Street, Toronto, Ohio. 740-537-1234 or 800-588-1446 The Toronto American Legion Auxillary will hold services 8:30 PM Sunday at the funeral home. A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Monday September 17, 2001 at Clarke Funeral Home with Reverend Robert Phillips officiating. Burial will be at the Toronto Union Cemetery.
