Clifford Fetty, age 96 passed away Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at his home.
He was born September 5, 1917 in St. Marys, WV the son of the late Herbert and Nora (Hescht) Fetty. He left St. Marys in 1936 making his home in Ohio for the rest of his life.
Clifford was a member of the Toronto American Legion Post# 86; was retired from the National Steel Corporation, Weirton Steel Company; served his country during WW II in Italy and Africa in the U.S. Army 21st Aviation Engineers
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ruth E. (Dennis) Fetty in 2000 whom he married January 7, 1945; brothers, Ralph, Earnest, Ronald, Claud, Birl and William Fetty; sisters, Lucille Hatfield and Edna Grant.
Clifford''s survivors are his sons, Richard (Toni) Fetty, Herbert (Lindsay) Fetty and Roy Fetty all of Toronto, OH; daughters, Linda (Pat) McCourt of Toronto, OH and Joyce (Doug) Turick of Richmond, OH; 9 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren ; 2 great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation hours for Clifford will be held from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 P.M. Thursday, September 4th at the Clarke Funeral Home, 302 Main St., Toronto.
A celebration service of Clifford''s life will be held 2:00 P.M. Friday, September 5th at the funeral home with the Reverend C. Robert Meyer officiating. Interment will follow at the Island Creek Cemetery, County Road 46, Toronto.
Military Honors will be provided by the Toronto American Legion Honor Guard at the cemetery.
Memorial contributions in memory of Clifford may be sent to the Salvation Army.
