August 12, 1945 – November 8, 2020
David William Lawrence, age 75 of Toronto passed away Sunday, November 8, 2020 at the Gables Health Care Center, Hopedale.
He was born August 12, 1945 in Steubenville the son of the late William F. and Wilma (Cochran) Lawrence.
David attended the Sugar Grove United Methodist Church; was a 1963 graduate of Jefferson Union High School; loved woodworking, bowling, hunting (there are many big bucks that are safer today) and fishing. He served his country for two years in the Army and retired after 35 years from the former Ohio Edison Co. (First Energy) power plant in Toronto as a foreman and was an avid Ohio State, Cleveland Browns and Cleveland Indians fan.
David is survived by his wife, Mabel Jane (Householder) Lawrence whom he married September 12, 2000; children, Brian D. (Cindy) Lawrence, Brenda J. (Russell) Reese; step-children, David A. (Rebecca) Turk, Kristina R. (Derek) Turk-Blake; mother of his children, Patricia Pytash Lawrence; grandchildren, Zane and Seth Lawrence, Zachery Reese, and Hayden, Ethan and Grant Turk; brothers, James (Dora Mae) , Raymond (Donna) and Bill (Karen) Lawrence
Visitation hours for David will be held Thursday, November 12th from 4-7 PM at the Sugar Grove United Methodist Church, 159 County Road 68, Toronto, OH 43964.
David enjoyed helping people in any way he could, plowing snow, keeping the neighbors mail boxes clean and repairing anything from wood or welding.
Interment will take place at the Sugar Grove Union Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to the Parkinson Foundation or the Alzheimer's Association
David's arrangements are in the care of the Clarke Funeral Home, Toronto.
