Obituary

Donald J. "Joe" Gray, age 66 of Steubenville, OH cherished beyond words by his wife, daughters and family passed away suddenly February 6, 2016 at the Trinity Medical Center West, Steubenville, OH

He was born November 16, 1949 in Sistersville, WV the son of the late Cecil E. and Frances K. (Lamp) Gray.

Joe was a Methodist; member of the Toronto American Legion Post #86; a 1967 graduate of Jefferson Union High School and a graduate of Eastern Gateway Community College with an Associates degree; he loved hanging out with his grandchildren, playing cards and camping; was retired from National Steel Corporation, Weirton Steel Company; served his country during the Vietnam War in the U.S. Navy and was an avid Pittsburgh Steeler fan.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ronald Lee Gray and his much loved aunt and uncle, Louella and Harry Gray.

Joe is survived by his wife of 43 years, married December 23, 1972, Tamara M. "Tammy" (Horvath) Gray; daughters, Julie A. Gray (William) Haynes of Wheeling, WV, Dawn M. Gray of Steubenville, OH and Diane M. Gray (Fred) Long of Toronto, OH; grandchildren, Jacob and Alec Haynes, Alexis, Samara, Landon and Trenton Long; sisters, Karen A. Gray (Bert) Fox of Sardis, OH and Christina K. Gray (Clarence) Fox of Toronto, OH; brother, Steven C. (Christine) Gray of Toronto, OH; several nieces and nephews and his loving pets and best friends, Kiki, Lacy and Rooney.

Visitation hours for Joe will be held 2-4 & 6-8 Tuesday, February 9th at the Clarke Funeral Home, 302 Main St., Toronto, OH.

A celebration service of Joe's life will be held 11:00 A.M., February 10th at the funeral home with Pastor Roger Wayne officiating. Burial will follow at the Island Creek Cemetery.

There will be full military graveside honors by the Toronto American Legion.
