Donald J. Townsend, age 76 of Weirton, WV passed away Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at the Trinity Medical Center West, Steubenville, OH.

He was born October 13, 1938 in Mingo Jct., OH the son of the late Carl Townsend, Sr. and Stephanie Kostolansky Townsend.

Donald was a member of the Weirton Elks Lodge and the Weirton Loyal Order of Moose Lodge.

He loved to golf, watching sports especially the Pittsburgh Steelers and loved taking care of his beloved dogs, was retired from the Weirton Steel Company having worked in the sheet mill as a cost accountant and served his country in the U.S. Army.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Carl "Sonny" Townsend and Harry Townsend; granddaughter, Alexandra Lopresto; his four legged pet kids, Buffy, Tigger and Tiffy.

He is survived by his wife, Rita L. Allman Townsend whom he married February 14, 1997; son, Dana P. (Jennifer) Lopresto of Bristow, VA; daughter, Jill M. (Noah) Davis of Monaca, PA; grandchildren, Cailey and Alesandro Lopresto; sister, Pauline (Paul) Meredith of Oveido, Florida; his four legged pet kids, Toby, Troy and Tia.

Donald's arrangements are private at the convenience of his family and are in the care of the Clarke Funeral Home, Toronto. According to his wishes, he will be cremated and his wishes were to go to doggie heaven upon his passing.
