Doris J. Carpenter, age 85 of Wintersville, OH a former Toronto, OH resident passed away November 16, 2015 at the Dixon Nursing Home, Wintersville, OH.

She was born October 18, 1930 in Port Homer, OH the daughter of the late Hiram and Gertrude DeGarmo Valentine.

Doris was retired from the former Ross Nursing in East Liverpool, OH and Wellsville, OH as a cook and nurses' aide.

She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Fallon Suttles and second husband, Raymond Carpenter; daughter, Linda Suttles; granddaughter, Kimberly Sue Suttles; sisters, Sharon Bain and Lucille Wetzel; brothers, Charles,  Chester and Jerry Valentine; step-sons, Chuck and Robert Carpenter; step-daughters, Helen Cook, Betty Johnson and Gaye Railing.

Doris is survived by her son, Jimmie (Deborah) Suttles of Toronto, OH; grandsons, Roger Suttles and Jason (Karen) Suttles all of Toronto, OH; great- grandchildren, Jason Suttles, Jr., Kerstin Suttles, Paige Suttles and Ryanne Suttles; sister, Lucy Geer of Philadelphia, PA; step-sons, William Carpenter of Hammondsville, OH and Thomas (Marge) Carpenter of Arizona and numerous step-grandchildren.

Visitation hours for Doris will be held Saturday, November 21st 2-4 & 6-8 at the Clarke Funeral Home, 302 Main St., Toronto, OH.

A celebration service of Doris' life will be held 8 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home with the Reverend Kevin Rinkes officiating.

Interment will take place at the Sugar Grove Union Cemetery at a later date.

Memorial contributions in memory of Doris may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
