E. Carolyn Frey, age 75 of Masury, OH a former resident of the Pleasant Hill area Steubenville, OH passed away Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at the Ames Family Hospice House, Westlake, OH.

She was born November 27, 1939 in Steubenville, OH the daughter of the late King E. and Ethel (Dye) Russell.

Carolyn was a member of the Bell Chapel United Methodist Church of Steubenville, Pleasant Hill, OH; was a 1957 graduate of Toronto High School; was assistant softball coach for the Pleasant Hill Lady Bugs; was a Kindergarten aide at the Pleasant Hill Elementary School; was a member of the Pottery Addition Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary; served as an E.M.T. for the Pleasant Hill Volunteer Fire Department emergency squad and loved to do gardening and do crafts.
She was a former employee of the former Hillyer''s Grocery Store in Toronto and the former Ohio Valley Savings and Loan of Steubenville. Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Curtis Linton Frey in 1994 whom she married October 12, 1957. She is survived by her son, Brandon Frey of Steubenville, OH; daughters, Cindy (Pete) Kalogeras of Masury, OH, Diane (Michael) Pirraglia of West Salem, OH, and Tricia Frey of Olmsted, OH; grandchildren, Sheena Shurtz, Adrianne and Jimmy Farris, Josh Pirraglia and Julia Frey; five great-grandchildren; brothers, Calvin (Sandra) Russell of Richmond, OH and Frank Ru andof Toronto, OH; sisters, Patricia (Chuck) Rawson of Fairfield, OH and Bonnie (Robert) Szeluga of Colorado. Visitation hours for Carolyn will be held 5 to 8 P.M. Tuesday, February 24th at the Clarke Funeral Home, 302 Main St, Toronto, OH. Additional visitation will be held February 25th from 10 to 11 A.M. at the Bell Chapel United Methodist Church, State Route 213, Steubenville (Pleasant Hill), OH A celebration service of Carolyn''s life will be held 11 A.M. at the Bell Chapel United Methodist Church with the Reverend Jeff Proya officiating. Interment will follow at the Ft. Steuben Burial Estates, Wintersville, OH. Memorial contributions in memory of Carolyn may be made to the Bell Chapel United Methodist Church, 3419 State Rt. 213, Steubenville, OH 43952 or the Ames Family Hospice House, 30080 Hospice Way, Westlake, OH 44145.
