Edward P. Salchli, age 88 of Toronto, passed away on Saturday, May 19, 2007 at his home.Born December 30, 1918 in Steubenville, he is the son of the late Charles and Anna Buehler Salchli. Ed is a 1936 Graduate of Steubenville High School, and he attended Ohio University. He served his country in the United States Army Air Corps during WW II where he was a Radio Operator, operating in China, Burma, and India. He is retired from the Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corporation where he worked as an electrical and Structural repairman, and is a member of the United Church of Christ in Steubenville and Pilgrim Lodge #691 F&AM of Steubenville.In addition to his parents, Ed is preceded in death by his wife Lorraine Chisholm Salchli, whom he married in October of 1969 and who passed away in April of 2004.Ed is survived by several Nieces and Nephews and his friends Paul and Naomi Merritt with whom he resided.Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 22, 2007 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the Clarke Funeral home - 302 main St. Toronto. 740-537-1234. Pilgrim Lodge # 691 will hold Masonic Burial rites at 7:30 PM A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 23, 2007 at 1:00 PM at the funeral home with Rev. Thomas Bullard officiating.
