Elvina Janet "Vi" Slocum, 87, of Colchester, Essex, UK, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 10, 2025 in Toronto, Ohio. Elvina was born on October 18, 1937. She was the daughter of the late Stanley and Florence Brown. Elvina loved to sit down by the Ohio River, feeding and watching the birds, using her green thumb in planting and creating arrangements, and watching the thrill and excitement of Formula 1, tennis and soccer. Elvina is predeceased by her loving husband, Earl J. Slocum; survived in death, her son's Ian Maidment (Bob), Stephen Payne (Nadia), daughter Jacqueline McMillen (Norman), granddaughters Nikki Wright (James) and Samantha McMillen (Shane) and great-grandchildren Hunter and Jack Wright and Nathan and Noah McMillen. Elvina's presence brought warmth, laughter, and kindness to all who knew her. Her legacy endures in the many lives she enriched with her compassion, wit, and steadfast devotion to her loved ones. Honoring Elvina's wishes, there will be a memorial service at Clarke Funeral Home with visitation July 11th from 5 PM to 8 P:M followed by a celebration of Elvina's life at 8 PM with Chaplain Dave Willey officiating.
