Eula Lorraine Tarr Stoll died Wednesday August 15, 2012 after a prolonged illness.
Eula was born on June 9, 1926 to Loren and Bessie Tarr (both deceased) and was preceded in death by her stepmother, Virginia Tarr, adored brothers, Marland Tarr and Daniel Keeling, as well as her beloved and devoted husband, Charles Stoll.
Eula fondly recalled her childhood, growing up in George''s Run, attending church services at the Methodist Church that always felt like family reunions, and spending time with her cherished grandmother, Ella Scott Tarr. After graduating from Weir High School in 1945, Eula answered her country''s call for service and relocated to Washington D.C. to work for the FBI during World War II. After returning to the area, Eula met and married the dashing Charles Stoll in 1948 and moved to Toronto, Ohio.
Eula was a woman of many talents and gifts. She was a homemaker, nurturing her family, who were the light of her life. She was an incredibly loving woman, generous of spirit and strength, bringing joy to all who were fortunate to know and love her. She also was a historian, authoring a book on family history and educating herself in American History. She was a world traveler, exploring new places nationally and internationally and making friends wherever she went. She was an avid Cincinnati Reds fan, following baseball games by radio during summers at Austin Lake. And as family and friends will attest, Eula was a fierce competitor, enjoying games of all sorts, especially bowling, dominoes, and cards.
Most of all, Eula was a devout Christian lady, strong in her faith and steadfast in her commitment to helping those less fortunate. She quietly supported those in need, without drawing attention to her deeds, concerned only with relieving the burdens of others, especially children. She was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Toronto for many years.
She is survived by her much loved family: brothers John (Denise) Tarr and Jim Tarr, both of Montana; children, Sheila (Jim) Willis of St. Augustine, FL, Chuck (Joanne) Stoll of Brownstown ,Michigan, and Ellen (Ron) Hughes of Toronto; grandchildren Donna (James) Dagostino of Pennsylvania, David Petras of Florida, Dayna (Eric) Snyder of North Carolina, Sarah (Art) Trembanis of Delaware, Erik Hughes of Delaware, Emily (Jason) Tatseos of Michigan, and Tom Stoll of Michigan; great grandchildren Rachel, Katherine, Michelle, Layla, Dustin, Ella, and Samuel; great-great grandchildren Kyra and Nicholas. Eula is also survived by her wonderful caregiver, Cathy Boyer, who provided comfort and peace during her last years. Visitation will be Saturday, August 18, from 10 a.m. a
