F. Louise "Weezie" Kestner, age 97 of Steubenville passed away Thursday, March 25, 2021.
Weezie was born February 23, 1924 in Wellsburg, WV, the daughter of the late Freeman and Jennie Belle (Harris) Shannon.
She was a member of the Wintersville Baptist Church; a graduate of the Irondale High School; member of the Beverage Association; member of the Business and Professional Women's Club and she had served as Exalted Ruler of the former Elks Club of Steubenville.
Weezie had been the owner and manager of the following: Louise's Restaurant, Big Country Bar and Grill, both in Toronto and Welsh's Lounge in Mingo Junction. She also managed Aunt Wezzie's Diner in Mingo Junction,
In addition to her parents, Wheezie was preceded in death by her husband James McDonough in 1969 and husband Frank Frederick "Windy" Kestner in 1991 whom she married December 21, 1974; three brothers, Elmer, Jess, and Harley Shannon and sisters Hazel Shannon, Edna Striker, Mary Peterson and Doris McTheny.
Weezie is survived by her niece and caregiver, Kay Shannon of Steubenville and a sister Deloris Beadnell of Amsterdam, OH.
Visitation hours for Weezie will be held 2-4 & 6-8 Tuesday, March 30th at the Clarke Funeral Home, 302 Main St., Toronto.
A celebration service of Weezie's life will be held 1:00 PM Wednesday, March 31st at the funeral home with Pastor Troy Thacker officiating. Interment will follow at the Union Cemetery, Steubenville.
Memorial contributions in memory of Weezie may be made to the donor's choice of charities.
