Glenn Regis "Crazy" Blanton, age 66 born October 29, 1949 passed away January 6, 2016. A beloved husband, dad, pop pop, brother, uncle and friend passed away peacefully at home surrounded by the family he loved so much.
Glenn was preceded in death by his parents, Willard Burke Blanton and Marjie Jean (Phillips) Blanton
He is survived by his wife, Susan (Mercer) Blanton whom he married June 4, 1977; daughter, Amber (Nico Butler) Stewart; son, Troy Stewart and daughter Brandi Blanton all of Toronto, OH. Grandchildren, Zach Stewart, Nate Stewart, Aubrey Saner of Toronto, Katie Kasper of Wintersville and Lacey Kasper of Cambridge, OH; three great-grandchildren he adored, Preston Warren of Toronto, OH and Weston and Waylon Kasper of Cambridge, OH. He is also survived by his three brothers, John (Julie) Blanton of Steubenville, OH, Kevin (Ruth) Blanton and Neil (Mary) Blanton all of Toronto, OH. There are numerous nieces and nephews. Glenn also had a special family who lived next door most of their lives who were his own children in his eyes, Keri and Dave Allen and grandchildren, Kacy and Logan Allen and great-grandchild Sophie Allen.
Glenn was Catholic by faith;, member of Focus In Toronto, Toronto Jaycees, Toronto Boosters Club, Sons of the American Legion; had served as an ambulance driver for TEMS; coached Toronto Little League baseball teams; involved in Area 9 Special Olympics; was a former announcer for the Toronto Titans; Cub Master of Cub Scouts Troop #41 of Toronto and was a 1968 graduate of Toronto High School.
Glenn was retired from Labor Local No. 809, Steubenville, OH and was a dedicated and faithful employee of Clarke Funeral Home.
Visitation hours for Glenn will be 4-8 Saturday, January 9th, 2-8 Sunday, January 10th and 10 – 11 Monday, January 11th all at the Clarke Funeral Home, 302 Main St., Toronto, Ohio.
A celebration service of Glenn's life will be held 11:00 A.M. Monday at the funeral home with the Reverend Eric Frey officiating. Interment will follow at the Toronto Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Toronto High School Baseball Team, the Tony Teramana Cancer Center or to a charity of the donor's choice.
