A"HalA" Shade - Age 87 - of Toronto passed away Wednesday - May 24, 2006 at the Schoenbrunn Healthcare Nursing Home - New Philadelphia, Ohio.He was born September 18, 1918 in Westernport, Maryland the son of the late Clark l. and Cora Umstot ShadeHal excelled in football, basketball and baseball in high school. He loved to hunt and fish.He was an avid golfer and belonged to the Dyer Country Club of Toronto and belonged to the following organizations: Lifetime member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles - Kingwood, W.Va. / Toronto American Legion Post #86 / Toronto V.F.W. Post #6906 / Disabled American Veterans of Bellaire, Ohio.Hal is a U.S. Army veteran of W.W. II having served in France as an Infantry Machine Gunner and had received the Purple Heart while serving in France.He retired in 1977 from the Titanium Metals Corp. of Toronto where he was a foreman.Hal was preceded in death by: Parents / 4 Brothers - Paul, Glendon, Gerald and Donald Shade / Sister - Lucille Thomas / Step-Son - Steve Brown, Jr. / Great grandson - Joseph RohreyHis survivors are:Wife: Velma L.
