Harry Deiderich, age 82 of Miami, Fla. Formerly from Toronto, Oh. Died August 14, 2020 of Covid. He was born March 29, 1938 in Pittsburgh, Pa. the son of Nathaniel and Constance (Cokinos) Deiderick. Harry graduated from Toronto High School in 1956 where he lettered in football, basketball, track, and was later inducted into the Toronto High School Hall of Fame in 2001. Harry received a scholarship in football from the University of Miami, where he excelled in football and played for four years. He had a degree in education and taught Social Studies and was on the administration in the Miami Dade School System. He also coached football and later became the Athletic Director.

Harry is survived by sisters Geraldine Balkun and Connie (Bob) Vandyke of Toronto, and brothers Art (Joann) Deiderich of Lakewood, Ohio, Fred Deiderich of Toronto, Oh. and Andy (Char) Deiderich of Pinehurst, N.C.

Harry's wife Donna died April 9, 2022 in Miami, Fla. she was born December 4, 1935 the daughter of Andrew and Rose Smurda of Toronto. Donna graduated in 1953 from Toronto High School where she was a cheerleader for the Red Knights. She worked for the University of Miami for many years. Donna supported Harry in all his endeavors. They remained in Florida, never forgetting about Toronto, hoping that someday they would return, they will always be in our hearts. In addition to Donnas parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Harry, brothers Bernie and Ron Smurda, and is survived by a brother Jim of Howe, Texas.

A Service was held for both Harry and Donna August 24, 2022 at Toronto Cemetery. A lovely resting place after a long and memorable journey. Father Vennitti officiated the service.
