Hazel Katherine A"KatieA" Smith, age 78 of Steubenville, formerly of Toronto, passed away on Saturday, March 31, 2007 at the Carriage Inn - Steubenville.Born June 27, 1928 in Wellsburg, West Virginia, she is the daughter of the late John and Hazel Montgomery Fall. Katie is a retired teacher from the former Wintersville Schools, and is a former member of the Toronto American Legion Post #86 Women''s Auxiliary.In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Fred Smith and a stepson Robert Smith.Katie is survived by a stepson Joseph Smith of Toronto, a Niece Mrs. Susan King and her husband Robert of Prescott, Arizona, two step-granddaughters, Mrs. Josie Moran and her husband Will of Follansbee, West Virginia and Mrs. Lisa Catman and her husband Shawn of Pittsburgh, Pa., and three Great-Grandchildren.Katie wished to have no visitation or services.Clarke Funeral Home - 302 Main St. Toronto is entrusted with the arrangements. 740-537-1234/800-588-1446
