Obituary

Helen Elizabeth Van Dyke, age 106, of Toronto (Sugar Grove), Ohio passed away at her home October 21, 2012 surrounded by her loving family.

She was born February 3, 1906 in Empire, Ohio the daughter of the late Charles Lemon and Vinnie Reme Adams Vance.

Helen was a member of the Sugar Grove United Methodist Church; Toronto Order of Eastern Star # 215; Toronto Daughters of America; the Empire Pythian Sisters and was a charter member of the Stanton Community Choir. She played piano for the church and all the organizations she belonged to and taught piano lessons. She was an avid Pittsburgh Steeler fan.
She had worked at and was co-owner of the former Van Dyke Service Station in Sugar Grove along with her husband Elmer "Pete" Van Dyke. Helen was preceded in death by her parents; husband Elmer La Mont "Pete" Van Dyke who passed away in 1991 and whom she married October 26, 1929; brothers a
