James Benjamin William "Ben" McEwen age 73 of Toronto passed away Thursday, April 20, 2023 at the Trinity Medical Center West, Steubenville.

He was born July 2, 1949 in Steubenville the son of the late James Benjamin McEwen in 2011 and Avanelle (Guess) McEwen  IN 2012 and also preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Charles Stock.

Ben was a member of the Toronto Bible Methodist Church and was a 1967 graduate of Jefferson Union High School.

Ben loved children, was a collector and enjoyed helping at the Urban Thrift Store in Steubenville and was retired from the Weirton Steel Company after 38 years of employment.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Ann (Stock) McEwen whom he married September 28, 1967; seven children, Laurie Ann Brooks, James Benjamin "Lee" McEwen, Casey Scott McEwen, Tiffany Joy Beckwith, Rusty Randal McEwen, Kallyah Carrie Briar McEwen and Patrick Kyler Drake McEwen. twenty one grandchildren and seven great grandchildren survive; sisters, Anna (Rick) Downen, Madelyn "Cate" (Thomas) Hill and Tisha Viola (Byron) Reese and a brother, Stanley Richard "Dick" McEwen.

A memorial service celebrating Ben's life will be held 2:00 PM Sunday at the Knoxville Grange, Knoxville.
