James William "Bill" Stone, age 75 of Weirton, WV ,  formerly of Washington, PA and raised in Empire, OH, passed away Monday, May 8, 2017 at the Weirton Geriatric Center, Weirton, WV after an extended illness.

He was born April 7, 1942 in Steubenville, OH the son of the late Joseph Theodore Stone and Pauline Initia (Duke) Stone.

Bill served his country in the Army as a military policeman from 1962 to 1968. He also served in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard from 1980 to 1984 as a recruiter and cavalry scout.

He was retired as a security guard captain for the Tarbuck Security Co. of Washington, PA.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Jolene Ann Kakacik.

He is survived by his son, Joseph William Stone and his wife Carla of Weirton, WV,  a grandson, Benjamin Stone and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation hours for Bill will be held 6-8 P.M. Thursday, May 11th at the Clarke Funeral Home, 302 Main Street, Toronto, OH

A celebration service of Bill's life will be held 11 A.M. Friday, May 12th at the funeral home with the Reverend Holley Faulkner officiating.

Interment will follow at the Toronto Union Cemetery where full military honors will be provided by the Toronto American Legion honor guard.
