James David Welday, age 61 of Bolgers Country Club Manor, Steubenville, OH, formerly of Empire, OH, has gone home to be with the Lord, Saturday, December 20, 2014 after a long illness with Huntington''s disease. He was born September 1, 1953 in Steubenville, OH. A son of the late James E. and Doris J. (Wells) Welday. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his daughter, Amanda in April 2011.
Jim was a retiree from the Weirton Steel Company working in the railroad department. His love of football made him one of Ohio State''s and Cleveland Browns biggest fans. He also loved the Edison Wildcats.
Surviving are two grandchildren, Taylor Mosti of Toronto, OH and Allison Phillips of Stratton, OH; one great-granddaughter, Savannah Mosti of Toronto, OH; also from Toronto, OH, one brother, Robert (Eve) Welday, one sister, Linda Keenan and one sister from Empire, OH, Carol (Randy) Westbrook. Also many nieces and nephews survive all of which loved him dearly.
Friends and family will be received from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 P.M. Sunday, December 28th at the Clarke Funeral Home, 302 Main Street, Toronto, OH.
A celebration service of Jim''s life will be held 11:00 A.M. Monday, December 29th at the funeral home. Interment will follow at the Sugar Grove Union Cemetery, County Road 68, Toronto near Empire, OH.
