James D. Spencer, age 73 of Weirton, passed away on Monday, September 18, 2006 at Trinity Medical Center West - Steubenville.Born July 9, 1933 in Shirley, West Virginia, he is a son of the late Richard and Amy Thompson Spencer. James is retired from the Barkhurst Construction Company, where he worked as a welder and a truck driver. He loved to hunt, fish, and travel, he was protestant by faith.In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife Nellie A"SallyA" Spencer, one brother Leman Spencer, and three sisters; Sylvia Spencer, Anna Lou Law, and Goldie Marie Ash.James''s Survivors include his wife Mrs. Patricia A. Forrester Spencer of the home, a daughter Mrs. Peggy Zablackas and her husband Bill of Weirton, two sons, Keith Matthews and His wife Anna and Doug Matthews and his wife Sue, both of Empire, Oh. Seven grandchildren, Dr. Jennifer Zablackas Lester and her husband Brandon of Columbus, Ohio, Miss Erica Zablackas of Weirton, W.Va. David Matthews and his wife Jennifer of Empire, Ohio, Kevin Matthews and his wife Erika of Limington, Maine, Ashley, Adam, and Austin Matthews, all of Empire, Oh. Two great-grandchildren, Miss Natalie Matthews and Riley Alexander Matthews, both of Limington, Maine.
