Jean Louise Downard Grimm, age 94 of Toronto, OH passed away Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at the Country Club Manor Nursing Home, Steubenville, OH.

She was born December 29, 1923 in Irondale, OH

Jean was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and loved to help and care for friends and family.

She was a member of the Irondale United Methodist Church; was a 1941 graduate of  Irondale High School and had been a clerk at the Paisley's IGA grocery store in Irondale, OH.

Jean was preceded in death by parents, Thomas and Ina Murphy Downard; first husband, Joseph R. Gill in 1961 whom she married August 1945 and second husband John T."Jook" Grimm in 2005 whom she married December 8, 1973; infant son, Gary Stephen Gill; grandson, Beau Holland; sisters, Janet Kruise and Kathleen Horton and brother, Richard Downard.

She is survived by her daughters, Susan (Richard) Kolbusz of Woodhaven, MI and Jana (Robert) Holland of Toronto, OH; sons Michael J. Gill of Toronto, OH and Bruce Grimm of East Liverpool, OH; eight grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and eleven great-great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Linda Grimm and brothers-in-law, Dale (Carol) Grimm and Norman (Julie) Grimm. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Visitation hours for Jean will be held from 3 to 6 Friday, March 16th at the Clarke Funeral Home, 302 Main Street, Toronto, OH followed by a celebration service of Jean's life at 6 P.M. with Pastor Mike Ingoles officiating.

Jean's interment will be held at the Chestnut Grove Cemetery, Irondale, OH at the convenience of her family.

The family wishes to thank the Country Club Manor personnel for the excellent and loving care that they gave to Jean.
