Jessie Mae Keenan Tharp, age 88 passed away Thursday, May 9, 2019 at the Trinity Medical Center West, Steubenville, OH

She was born June 21, 1930 in Empire, OH the daughter of the late Roy and Jessie Mushrush Keenan.

Jessie was a member of the Empire United Methodist Church; was a 1948 graduate of Toronto High School and retired from the Jefferson County Department of Human Services retiring in 1994 after 29 years of service.

She loved taking care of her family and hosting Sunday dinners and was an avid Cleveland Browns, Indians and Cavaliers fan.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Tharp in 1991 whom she married May 7, 1949; daughter, Sherry Grimm in 1993; sisters, Gloria Staley Ice and Kathleen Berger; brothers, Ronald "Muss", Wayne and Richard "Butch" Keenan and two infant brothers.

Jessie is survived by her daughters, Christy (Gary) Bonnizzio of Toronto, OH and Glenda ( late husband Rick) Board of Irondale, OH; eight grandchildren, Ryan (Stephanie) Bonnizzio of Twinsburg, OH, Darcy (Rod) Henry of Toronto, OH, Grant (Jennifer) Board of Richmond, OH, Glenn, Justin and Luke Board of Irondale, OH, Cody (Julie) Grimm of Medina, OH and Derek  (Ashley) Grimm of Uhrichsville, OH; twenty great- grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter; sister-in-law, Sandie Tharp of Richmond, OH and son-in-law, Ralph "Bub" Grimm of Richmond, OH.

Visitation hours for Jessie will be held 2-4 & 6-8 Monday May 13th at the Clarke Funeral Home, 302 Main St., Toronto, OH.

A celebration service of Jessie's life will be held 11 A.M. Tuesday, May 14th at the funeral home with Pastor Sam Davis officiating. Interment will follow at the Sugar Grove Union Cemetery, County Road 68, Toronto, OH.
