Jessie Mary "Pete" Chidester, age 89 a homemaker of Toronto, OH passed away Saturday, October 3, 2015 at the Valley Hospice Care Center North, Steubenville, OH.

She was born April 18, 1926 in Bradley, OH the daughter of the late Charles E. and Martha E. Donaldson Swearingen.

Jessie was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Toronto and a member of the Gleaners of the church; member of the Toronto Order of Eastern Stars; had been a member of the Toronto Junior Women's Club and had served as a Cub Scout Den Mother.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert E. Chidester, Sr. who passed away in 2011 and whom she married July 6, 1946; son, Robert E. Chidester, Jr. in 1996; brothers, Wilford, Jack, Edmond, Glenn and Richard Swearingen; sisters, Donna Spring and Hallie Swearingen.

Jessie is survived by her daughters, Penny (Glenn) Dickinson of East Liverpool, OH, Rhonda (Victor) Mowtschan of Plymouth, MA and Judy (David) Scalley of Toronto, OH; Seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; brother, Jay (Aimee) Swearingen of Toronto, OH and daughter-in-law, Ina Chidester of Mingo Jct., OH.

Visitation hours for Jessie will be held 4 to 8 P.M. Sunday, October 11th at the Clarke funeral Home, 302 Main St., Toronto. The Toronto Eastern Stars will hold services 7 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home. There will be additional visitation Monday, October 12th from 10 to 11 A.M. at the First Presbyterian Church, 116 North Third St., Toronto.

A celebration service of Jessie's life will be held 11 A.M. Monday at the First Presbyterian Church with Pastor Tyler Bayless officiating. Interment will take place at the Island Creek Cemetery, County Road 46, Toronto.
