Joan Marie Hayes-Wasson, age 72, a homemaker of Stratton, OH passed away Tuesday, January 1, 2019 at the Acuity Specialty Hospital, Weirton, WV.

She was born December 12, 1946 in Steubenville, OH.

Joan was dedicated homemaker; loved to cook and go to garage and yard sales.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph E. Hayes, Sr. and Margaret (Swartz) Hayes; sister, Linda Kay Allison in 1976 and brothers, Ralph E. Hayes, Jr. in 1996 and Billy B. Hayes in 1997.

Joan is survived by her husband, Ronald E. Wasson; sons, James (Aimee) DeFrank of Georgia, Troy DeFrank of the home and Chad (Danielle) Weaver of Bloomingdale, OH; daughter, Christy Weaver (Martin) Hoffman of Stratton, OH; grandchildren, Zachary and Joshua DeFrank, Tyler, Brady, Jacob and Savannah Weaver and Kylee Hoffman; sister, Marjorie (Ronald) Sines of Toronto, OH; brothers, Kenneth (Sharon) Hayes of Toronto, OH and Gary (Cindy) Hayes of Steubenville, OH. She also leaves behind her dog Cocoa.

Joan's arrangements will be private at the convenience of her family and are in the care of the Clarke Funeral Home, Toronto, OH
