John T. A"JookA" Grimm, age 77 of Toronto, formerly of Irondale, passed away on Saturday, August 27, 2005 at Calcutta Health Care Center - Calcutta.Born March 7, 1928 in Stratton, he is a son of the late John T. and Edna Nixon Grimm Sr. John was a member of The Irondale United Methodist Church. He attended Toronto High School, was an active member of the Irondale Fire Department for 15 years, and was a member of the Stanton Ruritan Club. He was a Corporal in the United States Army, serving in the Korean War. In his younger years, he was an avid baseball player, golfer and bowler and was an avid Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers fan. He was a loving and caring husband, father and grandfather, who will be greatly missed by all who knew him.In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife, Catherine Miller Grimm who passed away in April of 1972, and an infant son Phillip Grimm.His survivors include his wife of 31 years, Mrs. Jean L. Gill Grimm of the home, whom he married December 8, 1973. A son, Bruce Grimm and his wife Nancy of Wellsville, Ohio; a step-son Michael Gill of Toronto; two step-daughters, Mrs. Susan Howell of Columbiana, Ohio and Mrs. Jana Holland and her husband Robert of Toronto. Four brothers, David Grimm and his wife Arlene of Salineville, Ohio; Dale Grimm and his wife Carol of Carrollton, Ohio; Richard Grimm of Toronto; and Norman Grimm and his wife Julie of Wellsville, Ohio. Three sisters, Mrs. Paulina Huyghe and her husband Albert of Uhrichsville, Ohio; Mrs. Joyce Ketchum and her husband Robert of Hammondsville, and Miss Linda Grimm of Toronto. Eight Grandchildren, Amy Boyer, Sean Howell, Ryan and Tyler Holland, Beth Shaffer, Dawn Ghiardi, Christian Nicholson, and Mandi Downard, and fifteen great - grandchildren.Family and friends will gather for visitation on Tuesday, August 30, 2005 from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at the Clarke Funeral Home - 302 Main St. Toronto, Ohio 43964 740-537-1234/800-588-1446A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 31, 2005 at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home with Pastor Sandy Payette officiating.
