John Thomas Loy, Sr., age 68 of Amsterdam, OH passed away Thursday, October 12, 2017 at the Valley Hospice Care Center North, Steubenville, OH

He was born September 4, 1949 in Steubenville, OH the son of the late Victor and Wanita Marie (Sines) Loy.

John was a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Cheryl A (Tingler) Loy September 12, 1999 whom he married July 18, 1975 and brothers, Harry and Victor Loy.

John is survived by his sons, Brian (Kathi) Meadows of Toronto, OH and John T. (Lolita) Loy, Jr. of Amsterdam, OH; brother, Clarence Paul (Mary Ann) Loy of Riverside, CA;  sister, Phyllis Ann Fisher of Steubenville, OH; grandchildren, Robbie Phillipson, Mindy Meadows, Desiree Meadows, Gregory Gooding, Jr. and Faith Loy.

Memorial contributions in memory of John may be made to a charity of the donor's choice in his name.

John's arrangements are private at the convenience of his family and are in the care of the Clarke Funeral Home, Toronto, OH. There will be an interment at the Island Creek Cemetery at a later date.
