He is retired from Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel Company - Steubenville Plant as an inspector in the cold strip department.
He was preceded in death by: Parents / Two brothers - Richard and Paul M. Downen. Mr. Downen''s survivors are: Wife: Eleanor N. Byers Downen of the home whom he married July 3, 1934. 2 Sons: Ronald E. Downen and wife Deanna of Bloomingdale, Ohio Rick A. The Toronto Fraternal Order of Eagles will have a service Tuesday at 7:00 PM. The Jenkins Lodge #471 Irondale, Ohio will have a s ervice Tuesday at 7:30 PM. A memorial service will be held 8:00 PM Tuesday July 31, 2001 at Clarke Funeral Home with Reverend Robert Phillips officiating. Burial will take place at the Fort Steuben Burial Estates - Wintersville, Ohio.
