Joseph Payne, Jr., age 74 of Toronto, OH passed away at his home Monday, July 11, 2016 surrounded by his loving family.

He was born July 31, 1941 in Steubenville, OH the son of the late Joseph Payne, Sr. and Mary (Turvey) Payne.

Joseph lived for his family; was an avid bowler; was a 1959 graduate of Roosevelt Wilson High School in Clarksburg, WV and was retired after 40 years from the Wheeling- Pittsburgh Steel  Company as a railroad conductor and engineer.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Debra Kay Payne October 26, 2015; great-granddaughter, Isabella Hill; brother Frankie Payne and sister Irene Rowan.

Joseph is survived by his wife Janet Louise (Monigold) Payne whom he married April 29, 1961, 55 years of marriage; sons, Michael J. (Lorrie) Payne of Bridgeport, OH and Daniel W. (Paula) Payne of Toronto, OH; daughter Gayla Payne of Toronto, OH; grandchildren, Sammy Bainbridge of Weirton, WV, Stephanie (Scott) Mirich of Columbus, OH, Alyssa Payne of Columbus, OH, Michael Bogers of Louisville, KY, Jason Bogers of Bridgeport, OH, Maria Warren of Toronto, OH, Joey Warren of Toronto, OH, Josh Payne of Toronto, OH, Hannah Payne of Toronto, OH,  Casandra (Eric) Asafailo of Williamsville, IL and Kathryn (Steven) Hill of Richmond, OH; great-grandchildren, Madison Asafailo, Dominic Asafailo, Serenity Hill, Preston Warren and Timmy Morris, Jr.; brothers, Louie and Robert (Debbie) Payne and Rusty (Karen) Payne all of Toronto, OH; sisters, Lova Westlake of Toronto, OH, Rosa (Steve) Stone of Mingo Jct., OH and Helen Wilkin of Amsterdam, OH.

Visitation hours for Joseph will be held 1 to 4 P.M. Saturday, July 16th at the Clarke Funeral Home, 302 Main St., Toronto.

A memorial service honoring Joseph's life will be held Saturday at 4 P.M. at the funeral home with Pastor Rob Minto officiating.
