Joseph Lastivka, age 82 of Toronto, OH passed away Thursday, December 18, 2014 at the Trinity Medical Center West, Steubenville, OH.

He was born May 11, 1932 in Stratton, OH; was a member of the St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Toronto; member of the Toronto American Legion Post 86; member of the Toronto Knights of Columbus Council # 2187; was a 1950 graduate of Toronto High School and retired from the Titanium Metals Corporation in Toronto.

Joseph served his country in the Korean War in the U.S. Marine Corps.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, John E. Lastivka. Joseph is survived by his wife, Matilda J. (Herrick) Lastivka whom he married February 9, 1952; daughter, Melissa Ann (Mike) Simone of Gahanna, OH; sons, Timothy J. Lastivka of Toronto, OH, Joseph M. Lastivka of Toronto, OH and John A. (Wendy) Lastivka of Mason, OH; sister, Yvonne "Bonnie" (Paul) Trudics of Toronto, OH. Several grandchildren and great-grandchildren also survive. There will be a private visitation and private service at the convenience of the family for Joseph with the Reverend Father Thomas Vennitti officiating. Interment will be private at the Toronto Union Cemetery with military honors by the Toronto American Legion Honor Guard. Memorial contributions in memory of Joseph may be sent to the St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 1225 N. River Ave., Toronto, OH 43964 Joseph''s arrangements are in the care of the Clarke Funeral Home, Toronto.
