Joseph F. "Jay" Mann - Age 80, of Toronto died Tuesday, April 9, 2002, at Trinity Medical Center West in Steubenville.He was born February 24, 1922, in Burnham, Pa., the son of the late Sam and Ellen Ferguson Mann.Jay is a member of the Steubenville United Church of Christ; Toronto Kiwanis Club; Toronto American Legion Post 86; Toronto Masonic Lodge 583 F. & A.M.; a charter member of the Dyer Country Club of Toronto and the Telephone Pioneers of America.Jay is a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of World War II and the Korean War, having served in the Pacific Theatre of Operations as a master sargeant.He retired as a business industrial consultant for the former Ohio Bell Telephone Company out of the Steubenville office.In addition to his parents, Jay was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Mann and a sister, Mae Gingrich.Jay is survived by his wife, Doris M. Reinhardt Mann, at home, whom he married April 21, 1944; two daughters, Mrs. Dick (Barbara) Irvin of New Philadelphia, Ohio; and Mrs. Dan (Karen) Mellott of Toronto; one sister, Margaret Fultz of Burnham, Pa.; two grandsons, Randy Kerstetter III and his wife, Laura, of Wadsworth, Ohio and Brad Irvin of New Philadelphia; and one granddaughter, Bridget Irvin of New Philadelphia.Friends and family will be received for visitation 6-8 p.m. Thursday and from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Friday at Clarke Funeral Home, 302 Main Street, Toronto. 740-537-1234 or 800-588-1446Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday April 13, at the funeral home with the Reverend Thomas Bullard officiating.
