Joyce Ann Slaughter, age 62 of Toronto, OH passed away Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at the Ohio State University East, Columbus, OH.

She was born August 4, 1954 in Steubenville, OH.

Joyce was a member of the St. Francis Roman Catholic Church of Toronto, OH; served as an assistant Cub Scout Master at the Toronto Christion Church; was a 1972 graduate of Steubenville Catholic Central High School and served as an Emergency Medical Technician for the TEMS Joint Ambulance Service of Toronto, OH and the ASI ambulance service of Steubenville, OH.

She was preceded in death by her son, Donald Robert Slaughter, her father, Robert Merrill and a brother, Robert William Merrill.

Joyce is survived by her husband, David Mark Slaughter whom she married April 4, 1997; mother, Catherine (Gundrum) Merrill of Steubenville, OH; step-sons, David B. Slaughter of Wellsville, OH and Todd S. (Heather) Slaughter of Virginia Beach, VA; granddaughter, Ozzyanna Marie Hoper; sisters, Karen Merrill (Robert) Cooper of Steubenville, OH, Diane Merrill of Wintersville, OH and Sally Merrill Speaker of Steubenville, OH and brother, Thomas Merrill and companion Kay Studer of Archbold, OH.

Visitation hours for Joyce will be held 2-4 & 6-8 Sunday, June 11th at the Clarke Funeral Home, 302 Main St., Toronto, OH. Additional visitation will be held from 9:45 to 10:30 A.M. Monday, June 12th at the St. Francis Roman Catholic Church, corner of Findley Street and Euclid Avenue, Toronto.

A Vigil Service will be held 6 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home

A Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated 10:30 A.M. Monday at the St. Francis Roman Catholic Church with Celebrant the Reverend Father Thomas Vennitti. Interment will follow at the Toronto Union Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Joyce may be made to the donor's choice of charity.
