June Lorraine Starkey, age 92 of Toronto, OH passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family Saturday, December 23, 2017.

She was born January 27, 1925 in Toronto, OH the daughter of the late Samuel and Bessie (Evans)  Shirey.

June was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Toronto; a 1943 graduate of Toronto High School; was retired from the former Gill Brothers Glass Factory in Toronto and the Weirton Steel Company of Weirton, WV.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Merlin Donald Starkey, Sr.; sons, Merlin Donald Starkey, Jr in 1978 and Samuel G. Starkey Nov. 25, 2017; brother, George William Shirey; sisters, Chelsea Eppard, Audrey Harris, Lois Morgan, Irene Davis and Freda Jeanette Shirey.

June is survived by her daughter, Alice Darlene Smith of Toronto; son James  Starkey of Toronto; grandchildren, Merlin Donald Starkey, III, Gregory Allen (Jana) Starkey, Theodore Adam (Kathy) Smith, James Richard (Jamie) Starkey, Jr. and Heather Lorraine (James) Allen. Thirteen great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren also survive.

Visitation hours for June will be held 2-4 & 6-8 Wednesday, December 27th at the Clarke Funeral Home, 302 Main Street, Toronto.

A celebration service of June's life will be held 12 P.M. noon, Thursday, December 28th at the funeral home with the Reverend Kevin Rinkes officiating. Interment will follow at the Toronto Union Cemetery.
