Lawrence L. Oliver, Sr. - Age 83 - of Steubenville passed away of natural causes Wednesday - July 5th at the home of his daughter - Rebecca Sanders. He was born August 27, 1922 in Letart, W.Va. the son of the late James and Grace Wheatcraft Oliver.Lawrence is a member of the Two Ridge Presbyterian Church - Wintersville.He is a member of the Toronto Masonic Lodge #583 F. & A.M. and the Scottish Rite Masons - Valley of Steubenville.Lawrence is retired from the National Steel Co. - Weirton Steel Division where he was a foreman in the rigging gang.He is a veteran of W.W.II - U. S. Army Military Police and had participated in the Battle of the Bulge.Lawrence was preceded in death by: Parents / Wife: Geraldine Mae (Eger) Oliver who passed away March 11, 2005 / Brother - Harold Oliver / Sister - Edith CamdenHis survivors are:Son: Lawrence L. Oliver, Jr. of Bloomingdale, Ohio3 Daughters: Karen McKinney and husband Douglas of Amsterdam, Ohio Rebecca Sanders and husband Robert of Steubenville Tammy Lynn Oliver of Oklahoma City, OK2 Brothers: James Oliver and wife Jean of Aster, Florida Rev. John Oliver and wife Joan of Williamstown, W.Va.2 Sisters: Frances Ott and husband James of East Springfield, Ohio Jennie Ashby and husband Ernest of Marietta, Ohio9 grandchildren / 1 great-grandchildFriends and family will be gather for visitation 2-4 & 6-8 Sunday - July 9th at the Clarke Funeral Home - 302 Main St. - Toronto. 740-537-1234 or 800-588-1446.Masonic Services will be held A funeral service and celebration of life will be held 10:30 A.M. Monday - July 10th at the funeral home. Entombment will follow at the Ft. Steuben burial Estates in Wintersville.There will be full military honors by the Toronto American Legion at the Ft.
