Leonard Lee Tharp, Sr., age 76 of Hammondsville, OH passed away Saturday, July 16, 2016 at the Valley Hospice Care Center North, Steubenville, OH

He was born May 18, 1940 in Toronto, OH the son of the late Dona and Nettie (Britton) Tharp

Leonard loved to garden, hunt, fish and go to flea markets and was retired from Jefferson County, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Violet Ruth Tharp in 2001 whom he married December 15, 1958; son, William E. Tharp in 2015; brothers, Kenneth Dwain Tharp in 2008 and Lester L. Tharp in 2012.

Leonard is survived by his sons, Leonard Lee (Kathy) Tharp, Jr. of Steubenville, OH and Donald M. (Teresa) Tharp of Toronto, OH; daughters, Violet "Sis" Ghrist of East Liverpool, OH and Donna M.  Tharp of Toronto, OH; 22 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren and half-sister Norma Bentley of San Jose, CA

Visitation for Leonard will be 4-8 Tuesday, July 19th at the Clarke Funeral Home, 302 Main St., Toronto, OH

A celebration of Leonard's  life and remembrances of his life will be held at 8 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Memorial donations in memory of Leonard may be made to the donor's choice of charity
